The Everyday Geek: Her Universe Lip Glosses

“What you do, the way you think, makes you beautiful.” // Scott Westerfield, Uglies

I thought I would start up an on-going series called “The Everyday Geek.” The purpose of these posts would be how you could incorporate your geeky-ness, fandom, or pop-culture love into your everyday style in simple ways!

Today we’re going to talk about Her Universe‘s new lip gloss collections! If you’re not already familiar with Her Universe, the company was created by a role model of mine, Ashley Eckstein (the voice of Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars: Rebels’ Ahsoka Tano!). Her line has consisted mostly of geek fashion, but she has recently been putting out some amazing make-up products! I picked up her Star Wars and Infinity War lip glosses and decided to give them a try.

TEG_ HU Lip Gloss Review

The first set is the Infinity War lip glosses. This package comes with six glosses, all named after the various Infinity Stones. And, you guessed it, they’re all color-coordinated appropriately as well! All of these glosses have shimmer/glittler in them, but it’s subtle enough so you don’t look like a 3rd grader 😉 If you’re looking for something tame, you’re best off sticking with the pink, gold, and orange colors in this set. The green, blue, and purple colors can be worn super dark (which is TONS of fun) or lighter to create a playful look. I love wearing just one layer of the Power Stone (purple)!

Here are the three “tame” colors on me- Mind Stone (gold), Reality Stone (pink), and Soul Stone (orange). My favorite on me is definitely the Mind Stone from these three, but I know I’ll be using all three of these colors for every day!

Next are the more adventurous colors. The first set of photos is these layered on to make them darker. This is super fun, and I could totally see myself doing this for cosplay, Halloween, or a fun night out. It’s not something I would do for everyday, but maybe you would! The first is Power Stone (purple), then Space Stone (blue), and Time Stone (green).

I also used these darker colors in a more everyday way by only putting on one layer. I think this makes them more acceptable for work, but still adds the fun! They’re in the same order as the darker styles above- Power, Space, and Time.

Like I mentioned before, one of my favorite looks is the lighter style of the Power Stone! So fun!

Each of these glosses come in a cute tube with a gem style top, so you’ll never forget the power you hold in your hands! You can grab your own set of Infinity Stones, er, glosses from Her Universe or Hot Topic!

I also wanted to show you Ashley’s Star Wars lip glosses! Each of these are very unique and don’t really have the shimmer effect that the Infinity War glosses do. There are also only three tubes in this package. The first color is called Tatooine. It’s in the blue bottle, and it’s a very glossy/sparkly pink. It’s not too girly, though, and it’s perfect for day time wear! The next color is called Dagobah Dusk. It’s in the green bottle, and it’s a matte nude-pink. It’s a great color for every day as well, but you’ll definitely want to make sure you have a mirror available for application since the color is stronger than Tatooine. The last color is called Dark Side, and it’s in the red bottle. It’s a really dark wine color, and it’s gorgeous! However, the stain is a little hard to judge, and you’ll definitely want some liner for this one. You might want to also put on a base application of a light or nude color before applying this one. It is perfect for evening wear or if you’re feeling fierce!

Oh, and each of these bottles looks like a lightsaber! You’ll definitely be channeling your inner Jedi (or Sith Lord) when you wear these! You can grab your collection from Her Universe or Hot Topic.

Do you own any of these glosses? Which one is your favorite? I’d love to hear about it in the comments!
