About

I’ve been a geek/nerd pretty much my entire life. When I was around 6 or 7, my dad took me to see an IMAX film about astronauts in space. I think that’s what spurred my love for anything nerdy! After that day, I decided I wanted to be an astronaut. I lived and breathed space even when the rest of my friends were wanting to be artists, musicians, nurses, etc. By the time I got into junior high, I had decided I was going to be the first person on Mars.

Unfortunately, this didn’t earn me many popularity points in school. People thought I was weird, and I got bullied. BUT this didn’t stop me. I continued to pursue my passion. It was around this time that I was first introduced to Star Wars (yes- I was a bit of a latecomer to the party!). I instantly fell in love with the galaxy far, far away. It was the perfect fandom for the astronaut girl!

Fast forward to today. No, I’m not an astronaut (my math skills just weren’t quite where they needed to be!), but I still love outer space and I’m still a huge Star Wars fan. I’m a teacher now. And my goal is to show my students that it’s totally cool to be a nerd!

I decided to start this blog as a community where fangirls, nerds, and geeks can have fun. Here you’ll find my reviews of books and movies, some fun ways to put your inner geek into your everyday wardrobe, and other nerdy musings! Feel free to chime in in the comments, send me an email, and/or follow me on social media! I love making new friends!

May the Force be with you. Always.
